BAND TOGETHER SCHOOLS PROGRAM
At Southern Cross Soloists, we believe that every young musician deserves the opportunity to learn from the very best.
Band Together is our education and engagement program, connecting Queensland schools with the internationally acclaimed musicians of Southern Cross Soloists through inspiring, curriculum-aligned workshops, performances and creative learning experiences. Developed alongside Queensland music educators, the program complements existing school music programs by bringing world-class artists directly into classrooms, rehearsal rooms and school communities.
For more than three decades, education has been central to Southern Cross Soloists' mission. We know that extraordinary musical experiences can ignite curiosity, build confidence and inspire young people to pursue creativity for life. Band Together shares the knowledge, artistry and experience of our musicians with students of all ages, while supporting the outstanding work already being undertaken by Queensland's classroom and instrumental music teachers.
Whether introducing young students to the joy of making music, mentoring established school ensembles, rehearsing alongside aspiring performers, or providing professional development for educators, every Band Together program is designed to deepen musical understanding through collaboration, creativity and excellence.
Accessibility is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that a student's postcode should never determine the quality of arts education they receive. Band Together removes those barriers by taking exceptional musicians into communities across Queensland, ensuring that students can access inspiring, high-quality music education without the cost and challenge of travelling long distances. By working alongside schools rather than replacing existing programs, Southern Cross Soloists helps build stronger music education across Queensland—one rehearsal, one classroom and one community at a time.
