FIRST NATIONS

As one of Australia's leading chamber music ensembles, Southern Cross Soloists is committed not only to preserving the great chamber music tradition, but to shaping its future. Through the commissioning of new Australian works and enduring creative partnerships, we invest in the music of tomorrow while celebrating the voices of today. Our First Nations Commissioning Project—including the landmark Didgeridoo Commissioning Project (2022–2032)—places First Nations artists and stories at the heart of this vision, creating an enduring legacy of new repertoire that celebrates Australia's oldest living cultures and enriches the future of chamber music.

Southern Cross Soloists respectfully acknowledge the Traditional Custodians & First Nation owners of the land on which we work. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and future. We also recognise those whose ongoing effort to protect and promote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures will leave a lasting legacy for future Elders and leaders.
